Regiftable.com Archive

Regiftable.com launched for the first time on November 1, 2006 to open a dialog about holiday gifting. At first, we weren’t sure what to expect, but a real dialog is exactly what went on!   We’ve had two successful contests with a total of nearly 900 regifting story submissions ranging from horrific to hilarious. During each contest, site visitors rated their favorite stories and three lucky regifters won some great prizes.  Regiftable.com has been repackaged twice; each time offering new and exciting features.

In addition to the activity on the site, Regiftable.com received some very impressive media interest. The site was featured on the homepages of MSN, AOL and Yahoo. It was also mentioned in more than 700 media exposures.

We have been so pleased with the success of this site that we have decided to rewrap Regiftable.com again this year.  The site has been redesigned to include a few more fun interactive features, as well as another opportunity to win with a new regifting story submission contest.  Submit your regifting story today for a chance to win!

Regiftable.com—Really, you shouldn't have.

Family Heirloom

In my Dad's family, we have a joke that if there are no black olives on the table, none of the family will show up. 15 Years ago, one of my Aunts, who loves a good joke, started the family tradition of gifting a can of Mario's jumbo black olives. Everyone who recieves the olive can must initial and date the can somehow. It is never served at a family function, but has somehow made an appearance at every gift-giving occasion: Christmas, birthdays, weddings, baby showers, engagement parties, house warmings, whatever. Some of the past recipients have now passed away, and every new family member gets their shot. It has tranformed from the family joke to the family treasure.
